Toowoomba Regional Council says a 12-month program to repair flood-damaged Pierces Creek Road is almost finished.
The key link road road, which connects Crows Nest to Mt Binga on the route to Blackbutt, suffered major damage during the 2022 floods.
Cr Carol Taylor said Council appreciated the understanding of residents and motorists while construction works were undertaken at many locations along the key route.
She said there had been three significant culvert upgrades, five concrete pipe replacements and many pavement reconstruction patches.
“With these works now complete, Pierces Creek Road and the surrounding road network have been significantly improved,” Cr Taylor said.
“Two of these essential culvert upgrades involved widening the roadway from a single lane to double-lane waterway crossings, greatly improving traffic flow and reducing risks for motorists.
“The works are expected to be completed in April, weather and site conditions permitting and will provide a safer and more resilient road network between Crows Nest and Blackbutt, a road frequently used by locals and visitors,” she said.
