Work to repair a stretch of Bunya Mountains Road is due to begin on Monday, March 10.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads works will reseal six kilometres of road on the southern side of the mountain, ie. a section leading up to the Bunya Mountains-Maidenwell Road intersection.
The work is due to be completed by March 12, weather permitting.
The road will be closed while the work is being undertaken.
This means travellers heading from the southern side of the mountains will have to take a long detour via Bunya Mountains-Maclagan Road, Dalby-Cooyar Road, New England Highway, Kingaroy-Cooyar Road and Maidenwell-Bunya Mountains Road.
However, local traffic and emergency services will be escorted through the construction area.
