Kingaroy State High School’s student leaders for 2025 were congratulated in a special investiture ceremony held at the school on Monday.

Badges and certificates were presented to 42 Form Captains from Year 7 through to Year 12.

Indigenous Leaders, House Captains, Band Captains and Committee Chairs were also acknowledged.

2025 leaders are: Vice-Captains Emma Lindholm and Rory Crumpton; and School Captains Ryder Monteith and Tasleigh Gangemi.

Guest speaker at the investiture was South Burnett CTC CEO Jason Erbacher.

Mr Erbacher spoke about “leadership”, saying everyone could be a leader in their everyday lives.

“Leaders aren’t born, they are made,” he said. “Those who put in the work will see the results.”

He urged the students be authentic to themselves and “do the right thing” even when no one was watching.

KSHS principal David Thomson said it the investiture ceremony was an important occasion for the whole school, emphasising the school’s motto: “Lead with courage, lead with heart and above all, lead with ‘Respect, Resilience and Responsibility’.”

A highlight of the ceremony was the performance of an original song, “Running Out Of Time”, by Paradox, aka Harrison Johnson, Emma Lindholm and Justine Evangelista; the school’s symphonic band also performed, including a piece, “At The Edge Of Tomorrow”, written by conductor Matt Phillips
