Police are appealing for anyone who may have information – or dashcam footage – linked to a fatal collision which occurred on the Brisbane Valley Highway on Wednesday to come forward.
The crash occurred about 10:00am at Ironbark, just past the Blacksoil turn-off between Borallon Station Road and James Road.
A police spokesperson said initial investigations indicated a Mitsubishi Triton and Pajero Sport collided.
The Mitsubishi then crashed into a tree.
A 74-year-old Lowood man, who was driving the Mitsubishi, died at the scene.
The driver and sole occupant of the Pajero, a 60-year-old Esk man, was transported by ambulance to Ipswich Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The highway was closed for several hours while emergency services were at the scene, with diversions put in place.

QAS paramedics services were called about 8:15pm on Thursday after reports a vehicle had run into a fence on Cameron Road at Taromeo.
A man was transported to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition.

A driver escaped injury when his tractor struck power lines on Kumbia-Minmore Road at Benair on Thursday morning.
The incident blacked out about 70 Ergon Energy customers in the nearby area.
