Wooroolin Warriors were too strong for Murgon Crusaders in the Grand Final of the Gympie A Grade One-Day cricket competition played on Saturday in Gympie.

Murgon won the toss and elected to bowl.

At the end of their 40 overs, Wooroolin were 7/175 with opener Jackson Kerkow top-scoring with 37 runs.

Jake Sippel was the pic of the Murgon bowlers, finishing with 3/36 off eight overs.

In reply, Murgon were all out for 154 in the 38th over.

Brent Polzin (41) and Tom Patten (34) were the top scorers.

Fletcher Brown took 3/14 off 6.2 overs.

The Gympie A Grade Two-Day competition will resume this weekend.

SB Senior Competition

Tingoora Huntsmen’s Ben Pratt was caught out for 10 off this ball from Jamie Harmsworth

It was also a good day for Wooroolin Warriors’ B Grade team which defeated Tingoora Huntsmen by seven wickets at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on Saturday.

Huntsmen won the toss and elected to bat but were all out for 77 in the 35th over.

Nate Osborne top-scored with 20 runs.

John McDonald was Warriors’ best bowler, taking two wickets for just four runs off five overs.

In reply,  Warriors overtook the target after 18 overs for the loss of three wickets (3/78).

McDonald again was the best, this time hitting 25 runs off 22 balls.

Brett Rankin finished 1/9 off five overs for Huntsmen.

Tingoora Vikings (9/123) def. Nanango Scorpions (122 all out) by one wicket at Tingoora Sportsground.

Scorpions were all out in the 29th over, with Lachlan Cullen top-scoring with 39 runs.

Ryan Jacobs finished with 3/43 off his eight overs and Grant Spring 2/17 off six.

In reply, Vikings had plenty off overs in hand but were running out of batters when they made the necessary runs in the 22nd over.

Jacobs top-scored with 63 runs while Cullen took 5/22 off 6.2 overs.

Wondai Wolves (223 all out) def. Kingaroy Services (126 all out) by 97 runs at Wondai Cricket Ground.

Wondai won the toss and elected to bat and were all out in the 37th over.

Reg Wenham top-scored with 65.

Isaac Bice took 4/36 off 7.2 overs.

Kingaroy Services were all out in the 30th over.

Joe Campbell (29) was the top scorer.

Gene Barrett (5/27 off seven overs) was best with the ball for Wondai.
