Emergency crews were called to back-to-back swiftwater rescues after two vehicles became stranded in floodwaters at Merlwood on Wednesday night.
A QFD spokesperson said two fire and rescue crews were called to the intersection of Murgon-Gayndah Road and Bicks Road about 7:20pm.
They found one person – believed to be a man aged in his 50s – inside a vehicle.
A third crew was called about 10 minutes later after a second vehicle also became stranded, carrying an elderly woman and her teenaged grandson.
The spokesperson said rescuers used a motorised swiftwater rescue craft to transport the three people to safety.
Police officers and ambulance paramedics also attended the incident.
