The management team was re-elected unopposed at the recent Annual General Meeting of Visit South Burnett.

Members of the Local Tourism Organisation met at Nanango’s recently re-opened Ringsfield House for the AGM on December 7.

Re-elected were president Jason Kinsella, treasurer Gloria Kirkness, secretary Mandy Evans and committee members Robyn Dower, Neil Black and David Kenny.

Jason said 2024 had been another great year for South Burnett tourism with good weather and strong attendance numbers at almost every festival and event.

He said visitor numbers had held quite well, considering the national trends over the past 12 months, and visitor spending was still “solid” despite the cost-of-living crisis.

VSB membership numbers remained high and the group’s meet’n’greets had continued to be a great success, providing important networking opportunities.

Jason also praised the support of the South Burnett Regional Council and Mayor Kathy Duff, saying the new Council team had shown a great understanding of the important role tourism plays in the region.

Creative Country Association secretary Leo Geraghty OAM, who updated the meeting on new features which will be unveiled at the 55 Million Years Ago museum in Murgon on December 14, with South Burnett Mayor Kathy Duff
