Christmas spirit burst out in Wondai on Wednesday evening with the town’s annual Christmas Carols in Coronation Park.

The event was organised by Elaine Madill and the volunteers from the Wondai Art Gallery, who are also responsible for organising Wondai’s monthly markets.

The Wondai CWA and Community Choir joined with the Wondai Town & District Band to perform carols in the Percy Iszlaub soundshell.

Wondai Lions served up a free sausage sizzle and Mother Kate’s Early Learning Centre offered free face-painting for the young and young at heart.

The event received funding from the South Burnett Regional Council.

The next major Christmas event in Wondai will be the annual Community Christmas Carnival which this year will be held from 5:00pm on December 21 (not Christmas Eve)  at the Wondai Showgrounds.

There’ll be face-painting and kids’ activities; food and market stalls; a jumping castle, lucky dips and ham wheels. Santa is scheduled to arrive at 7:30pm!

All proceeds will go towards the 2025 Wondai Show.
