Kyron Tunstall in action for Wooroolin Warriors on Saturday

Wooroolin Warriors were triumphant in their Gympie A Grade cricket match played at Lyle Vidler Oval last Saturday.

Warriors (179 all out) defeated Gympie Royals (141 all out) by 38 runs after winning the toss and electing to bat.

Matthew Dugdell (51) was the top-scorer while opener Jackson Kerkow made 31 runs.

In reply, Royals ran out of batters in the 39th over.

Lochlan Burrows was the best of the Wooroolin bowlers, taking 4/11 off 4.2 overs.

The other Gympie A Grade game, between Murgon Crusaders and Valleys, to be played in Gympie, was washed out.

Warriors’ Luke Smith took two wickets for just 23 runs

SB Senior Cricket Results

Only one game of South Burnett senior cricket was completed last Saturday.

Nanango Scorpions (4/158) defeated Kingaroy Services (9/156) at Alan Downie Sports Fields, Nanango.

Kingaroy won the toss and elected to bat, and were 156 at the end of their 40 overs.

Captain Fletcher Black top-scored with 52 runs.

Lachlan Cullen (2/24) and Abby Burrows (2/40) were the pick of the Nanango bowlers.

In reply, Nanango overtook the target with just two balls to spare in the last over.

Opener Jayden Prendergast (63) and  Lachlan Cullen (46) were the top scorers.

Trevor Black took 1/14 off 5.4 overs.

Junior Rep Cricket

Darling Downs (2/178) defeated Wide Bay (177 all out) by eight wickets in their Southern Queensland Country Cricket Under 18 Don McPherson Shield game played at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on Sunday.

Darling Downs won the toss and elected to bowl.

Top scorer for Wide Bay was Lewis Andreassen (36 not out).

There are five teams in this competition, with the remainder of the games to be played in Gympie from December 6-8.

A Southern Queensland Country Cricket U18 squad will be announced at the end of the tournament to play North Queensland in April.
