South Burnett Regional Council has organised a number of consultation sessions for Blackbutt residents to discuss the flying fox problem in town.
The sessions will provide an opportunity for residents to meet representatives from Council, Queensland Health, Department of Primary Industries, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Redleaf to discuss:
- The short and long-term actions identified in Council’s Draft Flying Foxes Roost Management Plan for Blackbutt
- Human and animal health concerns – how to manage noise, odour and disease
- Understanding flying fox protection and permit requirements
“Council is taking the concerns of the local residents very seriously and we are looking forward to working closely with the community to come up with a workable plan,” Cr Linda Little said.
The consultations will be held in the Blackbutt Customer Service Office, 69 Hart Street:
- Monday, December 2 – 9:00am to noon
- Tuesday, December 3 – 9:00am to noon
- Wednesday, December 4 – 2:00pm to 7:00pm
