There has been another delay in the hearing of sexual assault and rape charges against Moffatdale businessman Joe Prendergast.

Prendergast, who was charged in June last year, faces 16 counts: 11 counts of rape as well as two charges of sexual assault, two charges of indecent treatment of children under the age of 16, and one charge of attempted indecent treatment of a child under 16 (procure to commit).

The matter had been expected to be before Murgon Magistrates Court on September 10, however Magistrate Andrew Sinclair was told in June that Prendergast’s defence team had applied for a delay.

The prosecution did not oppose this application and the matter was re-listed for November 5.

However, on Tuesday, the matters were adjourned again to March 24, 2025.
