Tom Hoare sends down a ball for Kingaroy Services … Hoare took 1/20 off his three overs, including one maiden

Tingoora Huntsman defeated Kingaroy Services by two wickets in their Round 3 South Burnett Cricket competition game, played at Taabinga State School.

Kingaroy won the toss and elected to bat.

They were 9/158 at the end of their 40 overs.

Fletcher Black was the top-scorer with 58 runs while Travis Bice was on 35 when he was caught and bowled by Joshua Miller.

Miller finished with six wickets and gave away just 22 runs off his eight overs.

In reply,  Huntsmen overtook the target in the 34th over, finishing 8/160.

All the Huntsmen betters made a start, but Jason Reilly top-scored with 64.

Fletcher Black (2/24) and Ian Bice (3/40) were the pick of the Kingaroy bowlers.

Huntsmen’s opener Robbie Butters was bowled by Fletcher Black for 15 runs

Other Senior Results

  • Nanango Scorpions (4/229) def. Tingoora Mercenaries (9/124) by 105 runs at Tingoora Sportsground

Nanango won the toss and elected to bat.

Opener Jayden Prendergast (103) hit a century off just 99 balls before being caught out off a Nate Osborne ball.

Simon Morrow was not out 42.

Osborne was the pick of the Mercenaries’ bowlers, finishing with 3/25 off six overs.

In reply, Mercenaries reached 124 in the 34th over.

Top scorer was Nate Osborne (47)  while Bennett Sharpe made 13.

Brett Burrows (3/17 off seven overs, including three maidens) and Jayden Prendergast (2/17 off six) were the best of the Scorpions’ bowlers.

  • Wooroolin Warriors (152 all out) def. Wondai (50 all out) by 102 runs at Wondai Cricket Ground

Warriors won the toss and elected to bat and were all out for 152 in the 39th over.

John-Paul Schultz top-scored with 38 runs.

In reply, an under-strength Wondai were bowled out for 50 in the 18th over.

Mitch Brown top-scored with 16.

Roger Hoare (5/5),  Archie Koehler (3/19) and Patrick Figg (2/5) did the damage for Warriors.

  • Tingoora Vikings (9/172) def. Murgon Diggers (119 all out) by 53 runs at Murgon Showgrounds

Tingoora Vikings won the toss, elected to bat and were 9/172 at the end of their 40 overs.

Keegan Wright (54) and Tavis Hartwig (20) were the top-scorers.

Jeramiah Litzow (2/22 off six) finished with the best bowling figures  for Diggers.

In reply, Murgon were all out for 119 in the 36th over.

Theodore Kelly made 12 runs.

Brendan Ferguson (3/10 off six) and Grant Spring (2/3 off four)  were Vikings’ best bowlers.

Gympie A Grade

  • Wooroolin Warriors (145 all out) defeated Murgon Crusaders (8/101) by 44 runs in Round 1 of the Gympie A Grade One-Day competition at Murgon Showgrounds.

Crusaders won the toss and elected to bowl.

Warriors were all out in the 39th over, with Lochlan Burrows (37) and Lawson Black (20) top-scoring.

Tom Patton (4/28 off seven) and Jake Sippel (3/32 off eight) were the pick of the Murgon bowlers.

In reply, Riley Sippel (37) and Tom Patton (26) were Murgon’s best batters.

Kieran Askin (3/13 off 4.4 overs) and Luke Smith (2/22 off four) were the best of the Wooroolin bowlers.
