Waterhole Rocks’ special dance floor was as popular as ever on Friday night

October 18, 2024

Nanango’s annual celebration of rock’n’roll, Waterhole Rocks, was officially launched by Mayor Kathy Duff on Friday night at Nanango Showgrounds.

However, the fun actually began on Wednesday night with live music on stage to entertain the campers who had already started rolling in.

Rhonda Mackrell, from the organising committee, said that by Friday night almost 300 vans had set up camp at the showgrounds, not a bad number but down on last year.

Numbers were also down because a number of would-be visitors could not find accommodation due to local venues already being booked out.

Saturday’s entertainment includes a lot of more dancing with The Rocknrollabillys, Little Stevie and the Tail Fins, and Buddy Love and the Tremors taking to the stage,

On Sunday, the focus will shift to Gospel music plus visitors will be able to enjoy a classic car and vintage caravan show’n’shine.

Local rock’n’roll enthusiasts are more than welcome to join in the fun!

Entry on Saturday is $25 and free on Sunday.
