Two South Burnett senior teams are again taking part in the Gympie A Grade cricket competition, with both in action at home for the first time this season on Saturday.

Rounds 1 and 2 of the Gympie 2024-25 Two-Day competition were played at venues in Gympie.

In Round 1, Wooroolin Warriors (177 all out and 6/40) took on Gympie Colts (8/146 and 6/131); and Murgon Crusaders (9/173) faced Gympie Harlequins (5/227 and 2/49).

The games were played in Gympie on September 14 / September 21.

In Round 2, Murgon Crusaders (3/122) faced Valleys (167 all out) and Warriors took on Gympie Royals, again with both games played in Gympie on September 28 / October 5.

The Crusaders game was drawn after it was washed out.

Warriors (5/214  and 1/35) defeated Royals (98 and 150) by nine wickets.

Gympie A Grade 

Warriors and Crusaders will be in action on home turf this weekend, with games starting at 12:30pm:

  • Wooroolin Warriors v Valleys at Lyle Vidler Oval, Kingaroy
  • Murgon Crusaders v Gympie Colts at Murgon Showgrounds

SB Junior Cricket

The South Burnett Junior Competition will get under way this Saturday, with all games starting at 8:00am:

Stage 2

  • Murgon Crusaders v Nanango Scorpions – Murgon Showgrounds
  • Kingaroy v Tingoora Vikings – Taabinga State School, Kingaroy

Stage 3

  • Kingaroy v Nanango Scorpions – River Road Oval, Kingaroy
