Kingaroy will get a new $7.5 million fire brigade station, should the LNP win power at the October 26 State Election.
Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington announced the election commitment on Thursday.
She said the current State Government had been dragging its feet on the important upgrade and it was essential the project got under way.
“The Kingaroy Fire and Rescue Station is an important facility for not only fire safety, but for the critical care provided to the many serious accidents which occur on our busy highways in the South Burnett,” Mrs Frecklington said.
“The current station has served us well but it is now outdated and struggling to meet the needs of the hardworking Queensland Fire & Rescue staff, let alone the capacity needed to house the extra staff coming online as the station transitions to a seven-day permanently crewed station.
“These upgrades are a priority, but Labor have continued to delay these essential works.”
Mrs Frecklington said works would commence during the first term of an LNP State Government.
