Fears the afternoon rain from earlier in the week could strike again – what could possibly go wrong on Friday the 13th? – evaporated as St Mary’s Catholic College students rolled up at Kingaroy Town Hall for their annual valedictory dinner.
There wasn’t any rain but there was an unseasonal chill in the air, not a great match with all the glamorous gowns!
The students and their partners were introduced to the crowd in the Glendon Street Forecourt by comperes Damien Martoo and teacher Alyssa Thomas.
The arrivals were also livestreamed on social media.
Alyssa, who teaches Prep, has known many of the graduating Year 12s since they started school.
The students arrived in an array of gleaming vehicles, ranging from a Triumph Herald convertible to a LandCruiser 4WD ute.
It was a big night for compere Damien and his wife Bron as their twins, Cherry and Minnie, were among the St Mary’s students who paraded on the red carpet into the hall.
