Emergency crews were kept busy at the weekend with a string of crashes and other serious incidents around the region, including a quad bike rollover at Haly Creek.

  • Police and QAS paramedics were called to a serious single-vehicle crash on a private property on the Bunya Mountains Road at Kaimkillenbun just before 9:00pm on Friday. A man aged in his 50s with life-threatening injuries was transported to Dalby Hospital.UPDATE: Tragically, 53-year-old Kaimkillenbun man Jason Spiteri has died from his injuries.
  • Paramedics transported a teenage boy with facial injuries to Kingaroy Hospital after he was hit on the head by a branch while lopping trees on a private property at Cooyar on Friday.
  • One person was transported by ambulance to Murgon Hospital in a stable condition after motorcycle crash on Olsens Road at Cushnie about 4:00pm on Saturday.
  • On Sunday morning, a man aged in his 40s suffered hand and wrist injuries after he crashed his motorbike on Din Din Road near Yarraman. He was transported by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition.
  • A woman was taken to Kilcoy Hospital in a stable condition on Sunday morning after a mountain bike crash on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail near Linville.
  • Two patients were transported by ambulance to Ipswich Hospital after a vehicle pulling a caravan rolled on the Brisbane Valley Highway at Biarra. Emergency services were called to the incident about 10:15am on Sunday.
  • About 12:45pm on Sunday, emergency services were called to a private property at Haly Creek after reports a quad bike had rolled.  A young woman with serious leg injuries was flown in a stable condition by rescue helicopter to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
  • A vehicle caught on fire after a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Wondai-Proston Road, Jacksons Road and Tingoora-Chelmsford Road at Chelmsford on Sunday afternoon. Emergency services were called about 2:10pm. A woman was taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition with foot injuries.
