Applications to Queensland Hydro’s community grants program for the proposed Borumba pumped hydro project opened on Monday.
The Community Grants Program will provide up to $10,000 (excluding GST) per grant to eligible community groups and organisations.
Applications will be assessed by a community benefits panel which includes eight community members who will make recommendations to Queensland Hydro for funding.
Grants will support projects in communities located near to the proposed project.
Applications for Round 1 will close on Friday, October 11.
