A briefing session to explain the opportunities available for local businesses during the $130 million South Burnett Health Precinct construction project will be held in Kingaroy in October.

A health hub is planned to be built on the site of the existing Lady Bjelke-Petersen Community Hospital in Kingaroy.

The project includes a modern aged-care facility, the relocation and expansion of the existing community hospital, and the provision of GP and allied health services.

The industry briefing has been organised by the Department of State Development and Infrastructure and the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training alongside the developers, South Bank Medical Group and the Ethos Medical Group.

It will be held at the Kingaroy RSL Club on October 3.

The briefing will:

  • Outline the project and the stages of construction
  • Explain opportunities available for local businesses
  • Discuss registered training and apprenticeships, and training workshops available via the Department of State Development and Infrastructure

The event is free, but registrations to attend close at 5:00pm on October 1.
