Tuesday’s heavy rain caught at least one local motorist unawares on the Burnett Highway.
Just before 7:00pm, emergency crews were called to the intersection with the Isis Highway at Ban Ban Springs after a woman’s vehicle became trapped in floodwaters.
The woman, aged in her 60s, was rescued and transported by ambulance to Biggenden Hospital for observation.
At 11:00am on Wednesday, DTMR was reporting the intersection was still closed to traffic.

The heavy rain also caused a blockage on Murgon-Gayndah Road at Merlwood on Tuesday afternoon, with debris across the lanes affecting traffic for more than a hour.

No one was injured when a car caught on fire on the D’Aguilar Highway at Blackbutt on Tuesday morning.
Two fire crews were called to the incident at 10:12am.
The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at the scene,
They extinguished the flames and made the area safe.

Two people were transported by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition after a single-vehicle rollover on the D’Aguilar Highway at Gilla on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency services were called about 1:30pm.
