The Blackbutt District Community Organisation is inviting residents – especially newcomers to the region – to come along to the Blackbutt Community Expo which will be held on Saturday, August 10, at the Memorial Hall.
Activities will run from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
There will be representatives on hand from various community groups to share information about local activities that residents may like to join.
There will be information about sports, hobbies, arts and craft, music, wildlife, gardening as well as service clubs.
Spokesperson Nev Lawrence said there would be 26 groups sharing what they are doing in the district, and encouraging local residents to get involved in organisations that may interest them.
“This event is an opportunity for people in the area to find out more about what’s on offer and how they can get involved in being a part of this vibrant community,” Nev said.
Entry is free, and there will be lucky door prizes donated by many of the groups.
The event has been supported by the South Burnett Regional Council.
