Santa dropped into the Kingaroy Friendship Markets on Saturday morning to add a little more festive fun to the regular monthly event.

The markets are held from 6:30am to noon on the third Saturday of every month at the southern end of the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street.

A raffle is held every month, with tickets quickly snapped up by marketgoers and stallholders alike.

Funds raised go to support the South Burnett Show Society.

Santa added a bit of extra fun to the Christmas In July markets, but the winner also plans to add a bit of winter joy to residents at the Forest View aged care facility in Wondai.

Don Barnes, from Proston, said he planned to donate his $60 meat voucher, from The Little Butcher in the Shoppingworld Mall, to Forest View.

The Kingaroy Friendship Markets feature arts, crafts, flower stalls, fresh fruit and vegetables as well as all the usual market bric-a-brac.
