Murgon News & Gifts has sold a $150,000 prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket to a local resident.
The woman, from Oakdale west of Murgon, bought the $10 Jumbo Crosswords Instant Scratch-Its ticket recently.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes,” she said. “I still can’t. I keep re-checking my ticket over and over again in disbelief.
“You always hope for a winning ticket and then when you finally get one. It’s just magical!
“It’s so exciting – I honestly haven’t given much thought to what I’ll do with the prize.
“An escape to somewhere warmer doesn’t sound so bad right about now.”
Murgon News & Gifts owner John Robinson said this was one of the most exciting moments he had experienced in the business.
“It’s incredible to hear that a local customer has won a big prize,” he said.
“I’ve owned this outlet for 50 years and I’ve sold many major prizes but that doesn’t make this win any less special.
“It’s a wonderful experience; to know the enormous impact that a win like this has on a person’s life is truly amazing.
