June 17, 2024

Smoke billowed from a fire which badly damaged a house in Gipps Street, Nanango, on Monday morning.

Multiple fire crews were called to the blaze just before 10:00am and prevented the flames from spreading to nearby properties.

Ambulance paramedics were also on standby, but fortunately were not required.

A QFES spokesperson said firefighters confirmed there was no one trapped or injured inside the building.

A neighbour said the flames had come close but she had suffered no damage.

This is the second house destroyed by fire in the Nanango area recently.

On June 8, a two-storey A-frame home at South Nanango was razed in a fire believed to have been started by a heater.
