Former Kingaroy Red Ant Harrison Braithwaite has been selected to play for Under 17s Country in their clash with City on Saturday in Brisbane.
The Under 17s match is part of the Queensland Rugby League’s talent identification program and aims to give young players a taste of representative football.
Both teams will go into a camp on Wednesday to prepare for the game.
As well as working out under the watchful eyes of their coaches, the players will hear from former Maroons players – including another former Red Ant, Matt Ballin – as well as guest speakers covering nutrition and wellbeing.
Braithwaite has been playing five-eight for the Wide Bay Bulls in this year’s statewide Cyril Connell Cup competition.
He was presented with the Allan Trunks BTN Values & True Spirit Award at last year’s South Burnett Rugby League awards for his efforts with the South Burnett Eagles.
