Tired of all the electioneering? How about heading out after voting on Saturday to the Tanduringie State School’s big fundraiser in Maidenwell!
The countdown is on for the annual Tanduringie State School P&C Bull Ride which will be held at the Maidenwell Sports Grounds.
Gates open at 4:00pm.
(If you still haven’t voted, South Burnett residents could head across to the booth at Maidenwell Hall, which will be open until 6:00pm).
Organising committee member Melanie McNaughton told southburnett.com.au she was always humbled to see such a small committee pull off such a big event.
“In saying that, however, it’s not the numbers through the gate or the funds raised, although they’re very appreciated for our small school,” she said.
“We value the model we are demonstrating to our younger generations.
“We cherish how they will learn to give back from an early age and to have pride in their school and community.”
There are good cash prizes on offer for the winning riders, ranging from $3500 for the Shane Cullen Memorial Open bull ride to $150 for the local 7-U12 mini-bull ride.
Entry fees for spectators are $20 adults and $15 for schoolchildren (under 6s free).
