Toowoomba Regional Council is encouraging residents to have a say about State Government plans for future water projects as part of the public consultation on the draft Southern and Darling Downs Regional Water Assessment.
Mayor Geoff McDonald said it was important residents provided feedback to the State Government.
“Water is a precious commodity. We all understand how critically important water is to our community and to the future growth of our Region,” Mayor McDonald said.
“The biggest challenge we face in regional investment to the Toowoomba Region is access to water.
“The Regional Water Assessment program will be a roadmap for economic growth.
“Looking at a baseline of water availability will help chart options for future water sources.”
Public consultation will run until December 14.
