FLASHBACK: Dana Coe, from Bill Hull Car Centre, with Sandy Nebe and Sarah Herbohn, from South Burnett CTC, assembling the hampers last year

November 2, 2023

South Burnett Online is proud to be joining other local businesses in supporting this year’s Christmas Food Drive.

We all know there’s a lot of families doing it tough at present … rising prices at the supermarket, the cost of fuel, not to mention the fact the drought is starting to bite!

Let’s try to make it a happier Christmas for everyone in the community.

The organisers of the annual appeal are looking for these most-needed items:

  • Spreads – jams, Vegemite, honey
  • Foodstuffs – dry pasta, noodles, rice, sauces, coffee, tea, Milo, soft drinks, sugar
  • Long life products – milk, juice, custard
  • Canned food – meat, vegetables, fish, fruit
  • Nibbles – chips, pretzels, nuts, lollies, chocolates
  • Toiletries
  • Baby products – nappies, wipes, baby food
  • Christmas items – puddings, mince pies, shortbread, bon bons, candy canes, Christmas cakes, decorations

Please make sure the items are within their use-by dates and the packets are sealed!

Items can be dropped off in Kingaroy at:

  • Bill Hull Car Centre, 11 Avoca St
  • Kingaroy Shoppingworld (outside Woolworths)
  • Peries IGA Kingaroy, cnr Avoca & Kingaroy Sts
  • KCCI Business Hub, 195 Kingaroy St
  • Ryke Fuel, cnr Youngman St & River Rd
  • Burnett Today, 154-156 Haly St
  • South Burnett Online, 6 Cornish St

Or at any South Burnett Police Station.

The donations will be distributed via South Burnett CTC and Eva’s Place.
