A special linedancing event held in Wondai on Saturday has raised $600 for the McGrath Foundation to support local breast care nurse Sue Cox.

The five-hour social event, part of the “Pinking Up South Burnett” campaign, was hosted at Wondai Memorial Hall by the Let’s Dance Linedancers.

It featured lots of dancing (obviously) as well as morning tea and a light lunch.

Group members donated a host of raffle and lucky door prizes.

Spokesperson Lynette French said she believed the event had gone off really well.

About 40 people turned up to enjoy the fun, coming from as far away as Maryborough, Bundaberg and Brisbane.

This is the second social event the Let’s Dance Linedancers have held to raise funds for breast cancer.

Their next fundraiser will be held on March 17 – with a St Patrick’s Day theme – with funds raised going to a local good cause.

Enjoying lunch were Anne Logan and Julie McBean, both from Kingaroy; and Ellen Wilson, Wooroolin
Taking a break at lunch were, at back, June Bingham, Wondai; and Julie Wise, Wattle Camp; and, at front, Kerri Siddans, Kingaroy, and Susan Lockwood, Gordonbrook
