A convicted child sex offender has been charged with failing to report contact with children after allegedly having sex with a vulnerable girl in Kingaroy.
David James Allen, from Thornlands, had an application for bail rejected when he appeared in a Brisbane court on Saturday.
Police will allege Allen struck up an online relationship with the then 15-year-old girl via Instagram.
Sexual activity allegedly occurred when Allen visited the girl, who has autism, in Kingaroy.
Allen was remanded in custody until November 23, when a plea of guilty is expected to be entered.
