A truck driver has died after a semi-trailer carrying fruit left the Burnett Highway and skidded on its side in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle crash, near the intersection with Kilcoy-Murgon Road in the Redgate / Barambah region, about 2:20am.
A police spokesperson said initial information indicated that at some time before 2:00am the semi-trailer was travelling south before it left the highway.
A man, believed to be the driver and sole occupant, died prior to the arrival of emergency crews.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and confirm the identity of the driver.
Traffic on the highway was disrupted while emergency services attended the crash site.
A specialist tow truck was also called in to remove the vehicle from the side of the highway.
Police would like to speak to any witnesses or anyone with relevant footage from that vicinity overnight.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
