Two people were taken to Kingaroy Hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation after a home in Kumbia was destroyed by fire on Saturday night.
Emergency services were called to the blaze, in Bell Street, just before 9:00pm.
Two urban fire crews and two rural units fought the blaze but there was little they could do.
A QFES spokesperson said the building was engulfed in flames, the roof had collapsed and fire had spread to a nearby lawn.
By 9:45pm, the blaze had been brought under control, but firefighters remained on the scene for several more hours to ensure it was fully extinguished.
The fire is believed to have started accidentally while one of the occupants of the building was asleep.
