Five South Burnett schools will receive State Government funding to upgrade their playgrounds.
The schools to benefit from the latest round of the “Eat Right, Play Right, Learn Well” program are Benarkin, Crawford, Murgon and Nanango State Schools and Proston P-10.
Schools were able to apply for funding of up to $500,000 to upgrade playgrounds, including to replace soft fall surfacing and install shade cover structures, and for tuckshops to buy items such as catering appliances and equipment, install stainless steel benches and upgrade facilities.
In Round 1 of the program, funding was provided to Cherbourg State School to enhance its playground, and to Murgon State High School to upgrade its tuckshop. Sixty schools were funded across Queensland.
In Round 2, 80 schools across the State will receive funding for playground upgrades and 10 for tuckshop improvements.
