Expressions of interest are now open for the Federal Government’s 2023-24 Volunteer Grants program.

Grants of between $1000 and $5000 are available to eligible not-for-profit community organisations in every Federal electorate.

Eligible groups can use the grants to:

  • Purchase portable, tangible, small equipment items to help their volunteers;
  • Contribute to the reimbursement of fuel costs for volunteers;
  • Promote volunteering opportunities;
  • Contribute to the reimbursement of transport costs incurred by volunteers with disability; and
  • Contribute to the cost of training courses and/or undertake background screening checks for their volunteers.

The objectives of Volunteer Grants are to:

  • Help community organisations to support the efforts of Australia’s volunteers;
  • Help community organisations to support the inclusion of vulnerable people through volunteering; and
  • Encourage, support, and increase participation in volunteering.

Expressions of interest should be submitted to the relevant Federal MP:

Three Federal electorates cross the South Burnett:

  • In Maranoa, expressions of interest should be submitted to the electorate office of David Littleproud,
  • In Flynn, the electorate office of Colin Boyce should be contacted,
  • In Wide Bay, contact the electorate office of Llew O’Brien.

After being assessed, selected EOIs will then proceed to the formal application stage.
