BIEDO General Manager Kristy Board has announced she will be leaving the economic development body on August 25.
In the group’s latest newsletter, Ms Board said she was “incredibly proud” to have been part of the BIEDO journey for the past 19 months.
“At the start of this year the BIEDO Board agreed that I remain as the General Manager, whilst undertaking the opportunity of my lifetime to travel around Australia and conduct my own research on alternative community operations and development of innovative food systems as a means of building the region,” Ms Board said.
“I am incredibly appreciative that the BIEDO Board allowed me to test how this model could potentially work. It has shown that BIEDO can think and work outside of traditional systems, allowed team members to step up and has also generated new networks for the organisation.
“I have been so grateful for this opportunity; however, upon considerable reflection, I have realised that I am unable to grasp my incredible travel opportunities with the focus they deserve.”
Ms Board said it would be “business as usual” at BIEDO while the Board advertised for a new General Manager.
“If you have any needs from BIEDO during the transition, please don’t hesitate to contact Leanne Sippel (email) who can point you to the right team member to answer your inquiry,” Ms Board said.
“At the end of my trip, I will be returning to the beautiful South Burnett and will bring my learnings from this amazing journey with me.”
