Three South Burnett organisations have received funding under Round 8 of the Stronger Communities Program.
Federal Member for Flynn Colin Boyce said the funding would deliver infrastructure and equipment communities needed to be successful and grow.
“This type of investment brings people together by strengthening social connections, building community participation, and delivering a brighter and more vibrant future for communities,” he said.
“Unfortunately, this program has been discontinued in Labor’s May 2023 Budget, with no further funding provided beyond the current Stronger Communities Program Round 8.”
The successful South Burnett groups in Flynn were:
- Mondure Rural Fire Brigade – $16,000 to install a kitchen into the old fire station building so it can be used as a training and catering centre
- South Burnett Ministries – $11,200 to replace building doors and install air-conditioners
- Mondure Hall Committee – $7500 for two 5000 gallon poly rainwater tanks
