A Linville man charged after a fatal head-on crash at Harlin in December 2021 was refused bail again in Brisbane Magistrates Court earlier this week.

Jacob Paul Johnston, 22, also suffered significant injuries in crash, and was charged in a bedside hearing in March last year.

Johnston faces charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and attempting to corrupt a witness.

His solicitor told the court Johnston intends to plead guilty to both counts.

Police will allege Johnston deliberately drove his Mercedes-Benz into oncoming traffic in an apparent suicide bid.

His vehicle struck a Nissan Navara being driven by Moore resident Michelle Wolff, 49.

Mrs Wolff, who was returning home from work, died at the scene despite efforts by members of the public to render first aid.

On Tuesday, Magistrate Michael Quinn refused Johnston’s latest bail application, saying he was satisfied there was an unacceptable risk he would commit further offences, interfere with prosecution witnesses, fail to appear or pose a danger to himself.

The case will be mentioned again on July 31.
