A new Kingaroy Fire Station is in the State Government’s “forward capital planning pipeline” but there’s been no date set for the project to go ahead.
Fire and Emergency Services Minister Mark Ryan said “exact timings for the delivery of specific facilities” was determined by the QFES.
The answer came in response to a Question on Notice from Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington: “With reference to the Kingaroy Fire Station, will the Minister advise if there are plans to relocate and build a purpose-built Fire Station precinct and timeframes?”
Minister Ryan responded that he had been advised by the QFES funding were allocated recently for improvements to the Kingaroy Fire and Rescue Station when it transitioned to a day station.
“In addition, I am also advised by QFES that a replacement fire and rescue station for Kingaroy is listed in the forward capital planning pipeline, with exact timings for the delivery of specific facilities to be determined by QFES based on the data on the number and type of call outs, the need for different types of emergency responses required in the local community, the ability of the facility to support community needs and the current condition of the facility compared to other State facilities being monitored in the pipeline,” Minister Ryan said.
