The Murgon Mustangs’ horror season continued last Saturday at home, going down 34-4 against the Wondai Wolves.

The rest of the half belonged to Wondai, with the injury-hit Mustangs unable to add any more points before full-time.

The second A Grade game was between Cherbourg and Kingaroy.

The Red Ants looked to be favourites after a big season so far, but the Hornets have been getting stronger as the year goes on.

Against expectations, Cherbourg scored four quick tries before Kingaroy managed to get any points on the board … with two tries in the last five minutes of the half.

Harry Sterling planted the ball over the line just as the siren sounded …

At the break, Cherbourg led 22-10 but these two quick tries must have given Kingaroy fans some hope.

However, Cherbourg quickly regrouped in the second half and piled on more five more tries, with the final score blowing out to 48-16 at full-time.

Cherbourg tries were scored by George Fisher (4), Lance Gadd (2), Michael Aubrey, Vincent Law and Elwyn Fewquandie. George Fisher kicked five conversions and Elwyn Fewquandie kicked one.
