The old Yarraman Showgrounds was abuzz on Saturday with the sound of motorbikes, motor vehicles of every shape and size and even rock’n’roll music.

The Yarraman And District Progress Association’s Show & Shine attracted 81 cars and 19 motorbikes to the Yarraman Horse Sports Grounds beside the New England Highway,

There was also a keenly contested tattoo competition.

Judges, including Toowoomba mayor Paul Antonio, were kept busy looking over the various categories as rock’n’roll music echoed across the grounds (see Trophy Results, below).

The music attracted some keen dancers – some wearing 1950s gear – to a small dancefloor set up especially for the occasion.

There was also a swap meet, market stalls and hot food available.

The Show & Shine is a fundraiser for the Progress Association.
