Nanango’s pioneering spirit was on full display on Friday night at Taras Hall with local residents decked out in their best 19th century fashions for an historic night of local plays.
The gala night was part of the town’s 175th anniversary celebrations.
It featured the premiere of a one-act play, “Tiaras At The Palace”, written especially for the event by three first-time playwrights, Denise Smith, Rae Burke and Janet Korknobel, as well as Hugh O’Brien’s “The Pram”, also set in Nanango.
Taras Hall was filled for the occasion, with some of the audience members sporting tiaras!
After the gala opening night, the two plays moved to the Nanango Theatre Company’s playhouse on the corner of Elk and George streets, Nanango, for two repeat performances on Saturday.
Their last performances will be this week at 7:00pm on Friday and Saturday nights (May 26-27).
Tickets for these performances can be booked online
