The volunteers at the Kingaroy Men’s Shed will be holding a car boot sale on Saturday, May 27, in a bid to raise funds to replace some of the items stolen in their recent break-in.

The group’s workshops and office beside Kingaroy Airport were broken into over the evening of April 12.

The office was trashed and three laptops and other computer equipment, multiple tools and a safe were stolen.

Spokesman Ralph Clark told southburnett.com.au the estimated replacement cost for the missing items was $15,000.

“And this doesn’t include the stuff taken that goes with the air tools such as nails, drill bits etc,” he said.

None of the items have so far been recovered, despite the Kingaroy Men’s Shed urging people to keep a close look on buy / swap / sell websites.

Everyone is welcome to take part in the car boot sale, for a donation of $5 per vehicle.

“Bring along as much of your goods as you want to sell,” Ralph said.

UPDATE: Kingaroy Police have recovered three drills and a driver, minus batteries, which have been returned to the Kingaroy Men’s Shed.
