The Kingaroy Men’s Shed says its 2023 “Dinner Under The Stars”, held on March 11, has surpassed all expectations, raising a more than $10,600 for the LifeFlight Foundation.
“Amos & The Ground Crew featuring Dealin’ kicked the afternoon off with some great toe tapping music. The early patrons were able to sit back, have a drink and relax while their children were entertained in “Kiddies Corner” with face painting and other activities generously run by the ladies from Kingaroy Bunnings,” a spokesman said.
“As the light faded and a little rain visited the event, everyone’s spirits were not dampened because it wasn’t long before they were able to enjoy the delicious entrée, main meal and dessert all beautifully prepared in camp ovens by the terrific Bait Layers Camp Oven Cooks and Caterers.
“The evening culminated in an auction plus drawing of the raffle prizes. Congratulations to all that scored an auction bargain or one of the great raffle prizes.
“This could not have been achieved without those that purchased tickets, our hardworking committee and the generosity of numerous local businesses and individuals.
“Please note there will be a presentation of the cheque to RACQ LifeFlight Rescue on May 18 at the Kingaroy RSL Club.
“All those that made a donation of cash, goods or in kind are most welcome to join us. Meals and drinks will be available from the RSL at your own cost. Please advise Ralph Clark via text message to 0402-107-563 no later than May 15 if you are attending.”
