Applications are now open for the latest round of the Federal Government’s Saluting Their Service Commemorative Grants Program.

Up to $3.5 million is available for projects that promote appreciation and understanding of the experiences of service and the roles that those who serve have played, as well as to projects aimed at preserving Australia’s wartime heritage.

Member for Maranoa David Littleproud said the electorate had a rich history of sacrifice and service and encouraged community groups to get involved.

“The program is a fantastic way of not only preserving our electorate’s rich history of service but ensuring it lives on for future generations,” Mr Littleproud said.

Successful recipients of Saluting Their Service grants in the past have included the Nanango RSL Sub-Branch, which received $10,000 for new cabinets to house military memorabilia.

Community grants of up to $10,000 are available for local projects.

Applications close on June 13.
