Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington has announced the first group of her Local Hero Grants for 2023.

“The first round of my Local Hero grants for the year closed on March 31 and there were many excellent applications from local groups and young people participating in representative sporting events, so the choice was very difficult,” Mrs Frecklington said.

The winners of the March round are:

  • Wondai Neighbourhood Watch – Support for their First Responders’ Day Lunch
  • Kilcoy State School P&C – Support for the tuckshop
  • Brayden Watcho – Support to attend Wide Bay U15s Competition in Townsville
  • Benji Lipsett – Support to attend Australian Junior Athletics Championships in Melbourne

The Local Hero Grants started in 2016 and are now in their eighth year.

They are designed to provide small donations to not-for-profit community groups and individuals from across the Nanango Electorate.

Four grants of up to $250 each are available in three rounds per year.

The next round closes on August 31.
