Eight South Burnett rural fire brigade units will each receive $5000 worth of items from local businesses, thanks to the Rural Fire Brigades Association Queensland (RFBAQ).
The recipients of Round 2 of the RFBAQ’s Buy Local Brigade Grants were announced on Friday.
Seventy-two brigades across Queensland received grants, all funded by donations.
Grants approved in the South Burnett:
- Abbeywood – Ride-on mower
- Barambah – Mower and brushcutter
- Cloyna – Ride-on mower
- East Nanango – Hot water unit, plumbing, installation of air-conditioning
- Gordonbrook – Electric appliances and furniture
- Maidenwell – Three laptops
- Malar Booie – Fridge, rack shelving
- Mondure – Ride-on mower
The RFBAQ grants are open to all Queensland rural brigades.
The requested equipment will be bought by the RFBAQ from local suppliers.
Items must not already be supplied by the Rural Fire Service.
Applications for grants under Round 3 are now open.
