The Kingaroy Local Ambulance Committee hosted its annual morning tea on Friday morning to welcome new paramedics to the local station, and farewell any departing members.
One of the new faces at the Kingaroy QAS is Corey McLennan.
Corey, an Advanced Care Paramedic, formerly worked as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Redcliffe Hospital.
Before that, he was a paramedic in the United Kingdom.
He’s now hoping to settle down in the South Burnett, and has bought a house in Kingaroy.
Departing the station is Acting Officer-in-Charge Will Gersekowski.
Will has been based at Kingaroy since last September, filling in for OIC Mei-lin Dean who has been on secondment at Toowoomba.
Will will now be heading off to Dalby to fill in that station.
Kingaroy LAC secretary Kay Dove said the annual “welcome and farewell” morning tea was to acknowledge and thank ambulance employees who were heading away, and welcome the latest additions to Kingaroy.
Thanks for taking the time to acknowledge our paramedics. Kingaroy Station has many staff coming and going and it’s important to acknowledge them. Thanks also goes to those who have worked at the station for years and continue to serve our community so well. Thank you one and all.
Always grateful thanks to our Ambos. Very proud of my Son, Mark Lapthorn. Looking great Mark. 🥰 Mum
