The first sponsors have come on board for the inaugural South Burnett Training Awards which will be held in Kingaroy on April 1.

The awards are being organised by Kingaroy Sunrise, a satellite club of Kingaroy Rotary.

Chair Mark Pitt said the support from the local business community had been “very heartening”.

“We are so pleased to be partnering with ATC Engineers who recognise the amazing work being done throughout the South Burnett by apprentices and trainees,” Mr Pitt said.

“They are particularly amazed at the work of those who have difficulties to overcome, and will be sponsoring the Equity Award.”

The South Burnett Training Awards will recognise the work the business community has been doing with their apprentices and trainees, and celebrate small businesses in the region who employ less than 19 employees.

“Tickets are now available, and we’ve kept the price affordable at just $30,” Mr Pitt said.

This includes individual grazing packs and live entertainment from local duo MISfITZ who are also sponsoring the night.

Mr Pitt also thanked Cr Danita Potter for funding the hire of Kingaroy Town Hall, Schuey Bros Drilling and LG Media Services for the website design, ticketing and media preparation.

“Nominations are now open to residents of the South Burnett Region, and we hope to have more great sponsorship announcements to make soon,” Mr Pitt said.
