A teenage girl was taken to Kingaroy Hospital with facial injuries after a fight broke out at Nanango State High School on Wednesday morning.
However, Education Queensland refuted rumours on social media that a student had been stabbed during the incident.
A spokesperson said about 11:50am, the school went into a “precautionary” lockdown after a fight between students.
“No weapons were involved,” the spokesperson said.
“Emergency services attended the school and the incident was safely managed.
“The lockdown was lifted at approximately 12:50pm.”
A police spokesperson confirmed there had been a minor disturbance at the school.
Police had attended and had taken up with the school principal but no further action was taken.
The Education Queensland spokesperson said the school community had been informed of the lockdown.
“Guidance Officer support is available at the school for any students who may require it,” the spokesperson said.
“Like all Queensland State schools, Nanango State High School holds the safety of its students and staff as its highest priority.”
southburnett.com.au contacted the school but was told they could not comment.
