A series of free grant-writing workshops for artists will be held in the South Burnett and Gympie regions next month.
The workshops, led by well-known former South Burnett artist Olivia Everitt, will be held in Goomeri, Kingaroy, Murgon and Gympie (see details below).
Olivia, who is now based at Imbil, said the workshops had been fully subsidised by grants from the Gympie and South Burnett regional councils’ Regional Arts Development Fund programs.
“I have over 10 years’ experience in preparing grant applications for artists, organisations, festivals and projects in the arts and cultural sector so this is an opportunity to share tried and tested methods to attract grant funding with participants,” Olivia said.
“Having lived and worked in both the South Burnett and Gympie regions since 2017, I’m passionate about seeing increased investment in our local creative talent.”
She said the workshops would be suitable for artists, arts organisations, festivals, event managers, arts workers and creative businesses.
“No prior grant writing experience is necessary,” Olivia said.
The workshops will be held at:
- Goomeri – Wednesday, February 1, 11:00am-2:00pm at the Hall Of Memory
- Kingaroy – Friday, February 3, noon-3:00pm at the Kingaroy Town Hall Reception Room
- Gympie – Tuesday, February 14, 1:00pm-4:00pm at the Gympie Regional Gallery Workshop Space
- Murgon – Wednesday, February 15, 11:00am-2:00pm at the The Platform (beside Murgon Town Hall)
Registrations can be made online or by phoning Olivia on 0432-556-830 to secure a place.
Olivia was named the South Burnett Regional Council’s Senior Cultural Award winner, and the Queensland Rural, Regional and Remote Women’s Network’s Creative Woman of the Year, in 2021.
